OUR NEXT SHOW IS MAY 6! The next MSP Music Expo will be held on SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2012, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The MSP Music Expo is held at the Ramada Plaza Minneapolis (formerly Four Points by Sheraton Minneapolis). The Ramada Plaza Minneapolis is located at 1330 Industrial Boulevard, just off of I-35W at exit #22. The MSP Music Expo is held in the Itasca Room, which is located at the front of the hotel, just down from the lobby. Early entry is available at 8:30 a.m for $10 per person, and the show takes place 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. As usual, you can also browse through dozens of dealers tables with thousands of CDs, records, tapes, DVDs, posters, collectibles, and other items. Admission is only $3. To show your support for our friends at Second Harvest Heartland and the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, bring 2 (or more) cans of food for them, and we'll knock a buck off your admission. (If you don't want to do the math, that means you get in for $2!) Be sure to pick up your Frequent Shopper Card, which earns you admission discounts and free admission! The next Rochester Music Expo takes place on Saturday, April 14 in Rochester, MN. The first La Crosse Music Expo takes place on Sunday, April 15, in Wisconsin. Plan ahead! At the July 19, 2008 show, local St. Paul DJ, artist and producer Freddy “Fresh” Schmid made an appearance promoting The Rap Records – 2nd Edition.This is the world’s only guide to rap records from 1979-1994. Our special guest at the January 2007 show was Nick DiFonzo, author of The Worst Album Covers In The World, The Worst Album Covers In The World 2, and Seriously Bad Album Covers. Nick made his first official U.S. record show appearance and came with plenty of awful covers to gawk at! We were also visited by WCCO-TV. They did two live broadcasts from the show! January 8, 2006 show featured exclusive photos and art Kevin Doyle is a Minnesota artist who specializes in detailed pencil renderings and fine photography. Kevin has the ability to capture the essence of any artist on canvas and also has a collection of concert images spanning over 25 years. The January 8, 2006 MSP Music Expo was be the first time any of Kevin's work had been offered at any type of show in the Twin Cities. Click on an image to enlarge it.
BAG IT! One of the dealers at the November 13, 2005 show had custom-made handbags that use real records and record art. These cool collectibles are a fusion of music and fashion. Attendees could browse through the selection or order their own custom bag!
The September 18, 2005 show supported American Red Cross! 15% of admissions for our September show were donated to the American Red Cross, earmarked for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Didn't make it to the show? Click on the banner below to donate directly to the Red Cross.
